Bude Wellness Warriors – Annual General Meeting Report

Great day out celebrating 3 years and our first AGM

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bude Wellness Warriors was successfully held at Berries Community Café, with a fantastic turnout from members of the group. The gathering marked an important milestone for the community as we reflected on the achievements of the past twelve months while also celebrating the three-year anniversary of the Bude Wellness Warriors.

The meeting provided an opportunity for members to gain a deeper understanding of how the group operates and how it has been structured to support the wellbeing of those involved. During the session, we reviewed the group’s constitution and discussed the management practices that have been put in place. These practices are designed to ensure that members gain the maximum benefit from the activities offered, while also providing essential safeguarding measures that protect everyone involved in the community.

Participation and Activity Summary (2025–2026)

Over the past year, participation across all Bude Wellness Warriors activities has been exceptional. The data collected throughout the year shows the strength of engagement from members and the growing momentum of the group.

Across the year, members collectively took part in 799 individual wellness attendances spanning a wide range of sessions designed to support physical health, mental resilience, and social connection.

These included:

407 Cold Water Therapy attendances, 197 Breathwork attendances, 85 Wellness Walk attendances, 79 Social events attendances and 21 Camping attendances and more.

Cold water therapy and breathwork continue to be the core practices within the community, forming the foundation for many members’ weekly routines and personal wellbeing journeys. The regular walks, social events, and occasional ceremonial gatherings such as sweat lodges and camping trips have helped build a strong sense of brotherhood and connection within the group.

The participation report also highlights the impressive commitment of individual members, with many attending dozens of sessions across the year. In particular:

Ian LeGrand participated in 90 sessions. Sean Brennan completed 83 sessions, including a remarkable number of cold dips and breathwork practices. Steve Hudson recorded 104 total participations across multiple activities, showing outstanding dedication to the community.

These figures demonstrate not only the consistency of attendance but also the strong culture of accountability and discipline that the Wellness Warriors aim to promote.

Looking Ahead

A sincere thank you goes to everyone who attended the AGM and continues to contribute to the strength of this community. The dedication shown by members is evident not only in their personal growth but also in the way they support and uplift one another.

Members of the Bude Wellness Warriors are increasingly becoming positive role models, sharing the message of wellbeing through everyday life, social media, the workplace, and within the wider community. Through these actions, the group continues to spread the message locally and nationally through its promotional activities.

As we move into the next year, the Bude Wellness Warriors remain committed to expanding opportunities for connection, resilience, and personal growth. Together we will continue building a strong brotherhood that encourages men to improve their wellbeing while inspiring those around them.

Testimonials

Ian, March 2025

Having made the move to Cornwall in Summer 2024, I joined the Bude Wellness Warriors in November and was made to feel very welcome. The weekly / breathwork and cold water therapy sessions are part of my Saturday morning routine and the monthly hikes across our incredible landscape have been amazing. It’s also given me the opportunity take part in an 8 week mindfulness and meditation course, which has been great, but not only have these events being beneficial for my own mental and physical wellbeing, it’s really enjoyable to be with a group of like-minded men.

Bude Wellness Warriors is a great place to join in, for as little or as often as you want, and provides a great support network for anyone to take part and connect. I’m looking forward to taking part in the upcoming events that Steve has organised.

Richard, March 2025

I have only joined the group at the start of this year as struggling to get over a family break up and struggling with my mental health. It has been great to be involved with like minded people and meet up and try new things . The cold water therapy is really good and everyone is very supportive and friendly.
The walks that Steve organises are great we have been to some great locations and had some excellent conversations
This group is really helping me on my journey and I would recommend anyone who isn’t sure just to turn up and you will feel welcomed immediately and you won’t regret it .

Dick, March 2025

Bude Wellness Warriors provides friendship, support and therapy through a diverse range of activities. A non judgemental environment for men who are dealing with life’s issues and seek a relaxed therapeutic journey to physical and mental health.

Jason, March 2025

I joined the warriors back in Jan 2024 when I moved to Cornwall and have had the pleasure of some amazing scenic walks with some truly inspirational conversations with the lads. I was made to feel very welcome from the off it’s been so beneficial to my mental health to be able to talk openly without judgement with these guys. Breathwork, mediation, cold water therapy and generally raising my vibration through connecting with nature and working on my fitness too.

Steve goes above and beyond to organise some great events that have made my move to Cornwall and my spiritual journey that much more rewarding.

Michael, March 2025

I was diagnosed at the age of 11 with a Brain Tumour and I went on to have 3 Operations and 7 weeks of Radio Therapy. Despite having regular MRIs, my adult life has been filled with adventure, having worked in the deserts of Rajasthan teaching children snake charmers English and continuing to teach English in Indonesia. On my return to England I have unfortunately had 2 relapses and I have now been diagnosed with Ataxia, an inflammation of the cerebellum which has affected my mobility and speech. I have recently been through a stressful divorce too. My Mother contacted Steve because she felt I needed some guidance and added male support. I appreciate and admire the Wellness Warriors and what they represent and what they do. So far I have only purchased a hoodie and met up with Steve for a chat but, I aim to do more in the future with the Crew when, Im fit and able. The group can offer the support and community encouragement to help me move forward mentally, emotionally and physically.
