1. Name
The name of the group shall be The Bude Wellness Warriors.
2. Date of formation
The Bude Wellness Warriors group was created on 20th February 2023 and formally recognized as an unincorporated association on Sunday 9th November 2025.
3. Aims
• Bring together likeminded men that want to improve their physical and mental health, providing peer support space for them to share experiences and learn from, and support, each other.
• Provide opportunities for the men of Bude to explore new wellness activities that will support their own personal growth, health and wellbeing
• Provide educational resources and signposting to mental health services and wellness information
4. Objectives / Activities
Bude Wellness Warriors is a peer-led men’s wellbeing group offering activities such as:
– Cold water dips
– Monthly hikes
– Group talking sessions
– Social events
The group aims to foster connection, resilience, and healthy living.
5. Membership
Membership is open to men, aged 18+, in Bude and the wider Bude area, who are interested in improving their health and wellbeing. All members are expected to follow the code of conduct outlined in the safeguarding policy.
6. Management Committee
The committee will consist of at least three core members known as the leadership group, with the following roles:
– Chair
– Secretary
– Treasurer
– Press Officer
– Fundraiser
A leadership team agenda item will be included at every AGM so that the roles are re-elected.
7. Meetings
7.1 Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The AGM will be held annually in March alongside a celebration event. Members will be notified via private social media and WhatsApp groups at least two months in advance. Items for discussion will be requested four weeks prior, and the agenda will be circulated two weeks before the event.
7.2 Committee Meetings
The leadership group will meet quarterly to discuss the constitution, roles and responsibilities, future projects, the AGM celebration event, finances, and funding. Items for discussion will be requested four weeks prior and the agenda circulated two weeks prior.
7.3 General Meetings
General Meetings are open to all members and will be organised no less than once a year. They must be attended by at least two leadership members.
7.4 Extraordinary General Meetings (EGM)
An EGM can be held at the chair’s discretion or by written request to the chair from a set number of members. The meeting shall be called within twenty-one days of such a request and shall only consider the business specified in the request.
8. Meeting Rules
Meetings will be organised by the leadership group and facilitated by the chair. Minutes will be taken and circulated within two weeks for comment. Decisions should be made by consensus where possible; if consensus cannot be reached, a vote will take place.
9. Finances
• Any money raised shall be used to further the aims of the group and for no other purpose.
• A bank account in the name of the group, requiring two signatures on any cheque or bank document (except paying in slips).
• At least two people will be authorised signatories.
• A written note of the group’s financial position will be produced by the treasurer and available at committee meetings.
• No member shall derive financial benefit from the group, except for reimbursement of reasonable expenses.
• No money shall be paid out without a receipt or invoice being presented.
10. Safeguarding Policy
10.1 Purpose
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all individuals involved in Bude Wellness Warriors activities.
10.2 Approach
We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment, being clear about boundaries, referring members to professional support where needed, and protecting the wellbeing of facilitators and volunteers.
10.3 Code of Conduct
As a peer support group, members are encouraged to speak openly about their problems, but it is important that participants must respect privacy, not attend under the influence of drugs or alcohol, refrain from abusive or disruptive behaviour, take responsibility for their wellbeing, and approach facilitators privately if further support is required. Facilitators may ask individuals to leave events if necessary.
10.4 Mental Health and Crisis
Facilitators may encourage professional help, contact emergency services if life is at risk, and signpost to organisations such as Samaritans, CALM, or Mind.
10.5 Confidentiality
Conversations are confidential unless there is risk of harm, a crime is disclosed, or permission is given to share.
10.6 Physical Activity and Risk
Participants take part at their own risk, must know their limits, disclose relevant health conditions, and take full responsibility for their safety.
10.7 Support for Facilitators
Facilitators are encouraged to set boundaries, debrief to the leadership group after challenging sessions, and prioritise their mental health.
10.8 Raising Concerns

10.10 Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or when a serious safeguarding issue arises.
11. Amendments to the Constitution
If amendments to the constitution are necessary, members will be informed in writing via email or WhatsApp group and given the opportunity to comment. Any feedback would be documented and discussed at the next committee meeting.
12. Dissolution
If the committee deems it advisable to dissolve the group, it shall call a meeting of all members with at least 14 days’ notice. In the event of dissolution, all financial assets will be divided equally to Friends of Bude Sea Pool and Bude Stratton Community Project Neetside Community Centre.
13. Adoption
This constitution was adopted on Saturday 9th November 2025.
