Wellness Walk No.22 – Sunday 9th March – Tintagel & Trebarwith Strand

For wellness walk number 22 we shall be doing a 7 mile loop from Tintagel to Trebarwith. Starting at Tintagel and heading south along the coast path, we’ll head inl]and shortly after Trebarwith Strand, to check out the nature reserve before heading back towards the coast path back to Tintagel. With the walk being predominately a coast path route expect a few steep hills with amazing views overlooking the rugged Cornish coastline. Being close to Tintagel, there will also be some historical monuments, a beautiful nature reserve, sections of ancient woodland and potentially a cup of coffee and a cream tea at the end of it. A decent level of fitness will be required as there are some ups and downs, you’ll need sturdy footwear, a waterproof jacket and layers depending on what the weather is going to do.
If those that would like to join the walk could register via the contact page or email budewellnesswarriors@hotmail.com that would be great.
Many thanks
Steve

Big News! The Warrior Camp is coming!
Working in partnership with Kernow Healing Fields, the Bude Wellness Warriors have been invited to help create a place of peace and tranquility on the edge of Bodmin Moor. Overlooking the magnificent Rough Tor and Cornish coastline, The Warrior Camp will provide us with an unbelievable space in nature where we can truly connect with ourselves, each other and the magnificent rugged Cornish landscape to create peaceful minds and calmness. There will be a woodland glade overlooking Rough Tor with seating area and fire pit, bell tents for restorative nights sleep, a communal yurt for warrior workshops, an outdoor kitchen area, eco toilets and communal allotments. There are also wild swimming locations, moorland and coast path walks within a very short distance.
The space does need setting up though so we are looking for volunteers to help clear vegetation and build the various structures during wellness warrior volunteer days and during any free time they might be able to offer. With this in mind, I would like to set up an initial volunteer session to bring together a core group of those that want to be involved with this exciting new project. I am proposing that we set aside a Saturday or Sunday morning over the next few weeks to start clearing the site and develop a plan as to what the site will look like and what materials we will need. Specific skills sets (and tools) we are looking for are grounds maintenance, chainsaw work, building, plumbing, carpentry, yurt and bell tent assembly so if you have any experience in these or would like to gain more experience in them, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Proposed meeting dates are as follows:
10am – 2pm, Saturday 22nd Feb or 8th March
9am – 1pm, Sunday 23rd Feb, 2nd or 16th March
If everyone could let me know their availability asap, I will confirm a date next week.
Many thanks
Steve
